   Senior Maxwell Frost scored late two goals to lift University of Detroit Jesuit to a 3-1 victory over Warren Mott in a Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1, District 14 boys soccer playoff opener on Thursday, Oct. 14, at Mott.

   Jesuit led 1-0 at halftime. Rain began during the break and most of the second half was played in a downpour with heavy winds.

   Mott was able to tie the game midway in the half as the rain started to break.

 

 

   With the game looking like it was headed to overtime, Frost nailed a penalty kick with 4:40 left in the game to give Jesuit back the lead at 2-1.

   Frost then drove the length of the field and scored again with 3:27 left to seal the victory.

   Jesuit (7-8-3) advances to face No. 6-ranked Berkley (17-2-2) in a district semifinal matchup on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Troy. No. 1-ranked Troy (15-0-4) faces No. 10-ranked Troy Athens (13-3-2) in the other semifinal. Troy edged upset-minded Royal Oak 1-0 and Athens cruised past Oak Park 11-0 on Thursday.
